King Agaricus for Pets

I first heard about Toei Shinyaku at a trade show in Singapore. My Border Collie is 14 years old and has been developing joint issues recently, so I wanted a supplement to help provide her with some relief and prolong her health. I also wanted a human-grade supplement that is safe for pet consumption, and King Agaricus (KA21) fit the bill perfectly. The evidence published on their website was very convincing. My dog has no problems eating her food with the supplement mixed in and we saw results in a couple of months. My friends say that my dog's bark is louder. I want to share the fantastic results that my dog experienced taking KA21 daily with other pet parents.

Brochure on Effectiveness

  • Product Info

A product made 100% from our proprietary King Agaricus KA21 (open-pollinated Agaricus from Brazil) is rich in rare nutrients and recommended by many veterinarians in Japan.

Immunity-enhancing and fungal disease-preventing effects have been confirmed in human clinical trials. Improvement of Malassezia and dermatophytosis in dogs and cats were established, with an 82.1% satisfaction rate of veterinarians and 85.5% satisfaction rate of owners against fungal infections.

Confirmed improvement in appetite, coat, and physical activity in senior dogs and cats, with owner satisfaction of 94.7% for improved appetite, 86.1% for improved coat, and 85.7% for increased physical activity (e.g., they are now energetic and go for walks). Mouse studies have confirmed the effects of reducing the side effects of anticancer drugs, protecting the liver, promoting wound healing, and growing hair.

It is used for immune enhancement, mycosis (Malassezia, dermatophytosis), infection protection, hair growth, and health maintenance for seniors (improved appetite, hairiness, and locomotion).

Produced in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)-certified plant for human use in Japan. Certified to be non-GMO and free of pesticide residues, artificial additives, radioactivity, animal-derived substances, and alcohol.

Evidences

In healthy subjects, after oral intake of 9 g of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 per day (3 to 22 times the standard intake) for 6 months, the product's safety was confirmed with no side effects and no effect on liver and kidney function values.

The safety of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 was confirmed in a test tube study and an animal study in which 1 g per 1 kg of body weight (approximately 16 to 125 times the standard intake) was ingested.

Natural killer cells, a type of immune cell, were activated in healthy subjects by taking 3 g of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 per day for one week. *Natural killer cells are immune cells that attack cancer cells and pathogens that cause infections.

Based on the above research results, intake of Agaricus KA21 is thought to enhance immunity and prevent infection.

Mice receiving the anti-cancer drug (5-FU) were fed orally with feed containing open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 and were evaluated for leukopenia, diarrhea, weight loss, feeding disorder, renal disorder, gastrointestinal disorder, and hair loss, which are side effects of the anti-cancer drug.

As a result, the ingestion of open-pollinated Agaricus was confirmed to reduce the side effects of anti-cancer drugs, but not that of house-grown Agaricus. The impact of KA21 on reducing the side effects of anti-cancer drugs may be helpful for the physical condition of cancer patients. The potent antioxidant activity of open-pollinated Agaricus may have reduced the side effects of anti-cancer drugs.

When wound model mice were fed orally with feed containing open-pollinated Agaricus KA21, the production of skin collagen type 3 was stimulated, and its wound-healing promoting effect was confirmed. The skin moisturizing effect against dryness was also confirmed in the same study.
* Presented at the 39th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Aesthetic Dermatology, paper in preparation for submission

When healthy people orally ingested 900 to 1500 mg of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 per day, the effects of reduced fatigue, better wakefulness (improvement of sleep quality), reduction of stiff shoulders, and improvement of sensitivity to cold were confirmed after 6 and 12 weeks of ingestion. In addition, the effects of improving hair loss and graying were confirmed after 6 weeks and 12 weeks of intake of 1500 mg/day.

When mice modeling hair loss were orally fed diets containing open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 and house-cultivated Agaricus KA21, the effect of hair growth was confirmed in the open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 intake group. The results were presented at the 10th International Medicinal Mushrooms Conference. Paper in preparation for submission.

When mice with liver inflammation caused by intraperitoneal administration of carbon tetrachloride were orally given feed containing either open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 or house-grown Agaricus KA21, only the group fed with open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 showed a protective effect on the liver.

When fatty liver model mice with a high-fat diet were given feed containing open-pollinated Agaricus KA21, the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of Agaricus KA21 inhibited liver fibrosis caused by NASH. Intake of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 may be effective in preventing NASH.

Hypertensive model rats were fed a diet containing open-pollinated Agaricus KA21, which reduced heart rate and blood pressure, protected the heart, and improved circulatory function.

Healthy people were given 3g of open-pollinated Agaricus KA21 per day for 3 months, which resulted in reduced body weight, lower body fat percentage, decreased visceral fat mass, cholesterol level, and blood glucose level.
