Toei Shinyaku Co., Ltd. was established in 1973 by Masuro Motoi (or current chairman) as a pharmaceutical company dealing with gauze for disinfection.

In 1996 we came across open-field-cultivated King Agaricus KA21. At that time, Motoi's wife suffered from stomach cancer. By taking King Agaricus KA21, she regained her health. Convinced of its efficacy, she started to sell KA21.

For over 25 years, our company has focused on research and development to pursue the potential of King Agaricus KA21. Having published 32 international papers, we are the world leaders in KA21 research.

Our Commitment

We only use King Agaricus (KA21) for our supplements. The following three commitments are the foundation of its unique and extraordinary qualities.

Masuro Motoi, Founder & Chairman

In 1996, after witnessing how open-pollinated King Agaricus KA21 helped his wife overcome a severe illness, he became fascinated by its potential and shifted to dealing in it full-time.

For over 25 years since then, he has been engaged in the research and development of KA21. He has even traveled to visit an open field farm in Brazil over 30 times.

At 75 years of age, he is still involved in new product development and serves as the company's chairman.

Akitomo Motoi, Representative Director & CEO

NR (Nutritional Representative), Supplement Advisor, International Chinese Medicine Physician, and Hair Diagnostician.

Son of Masuro Motoi, he worked as a medical representative (MR) for domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies. He then studied abroad in the U.S. After returning to Japan, he joined his father's company and was appointed as Representative Director in 2017.

While conducting overall management, he is also actively researching King Agaricus KA21 as a member of the Department of Immunology at Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences and the SFC Research Institute at Keio University. He has made presentations at conferences such as the International Society for Medicinal Mushrooms.
